Yoga Stretch

Start the day off by nourishing your mind, body, and soul with an early morning yoga stretch. If you’ve never done yoga before, that’s perfectly ok. The session is geared for all levels of experience. Please bring a yoga mat or a towel.

Creating a Strong Blog Brand with Mary Fran Wiley

You work tirelessly to develop great content and recipes, but does your blog stand out in a crowd? Learn from accomplished graphic design artist Mary Fran Wiley how to create or enhance your blog brand so that it’s memorable and communicates with readers.

In this session, Mary Fran will walk through the creation of a brand identity from start to finish. She’ll teach you how to choose a catchy name, create an identity, choose the best colors and fonts, and tweak a basic template to match your brand.

This will include mapping out your monthly planning schedule, recipe research and development, understanding the characteristics of gluten free ingredients so you get the best taste, texture and appearance, the five pillars of gluten free baking, the importance of keeping a working recipe journal so you can track your successes and failures, and how to make your failures work in your favor.

It’s no secret that food blogs with beautiful photos attract more readers, but how can you shoot magazine-quality photos and still get dinner on the table before it’s ice cold? Susan Voisin of FatFree Vegan Kitchen will explain how to set up a home studio, work with your camera’s advanced modes, and use editing software to enhance your images. She’ll show you how small changes in styling, lighting, and composition will elevate your food photos from humdrum to “Yum!”

Maximize Your Brand Partnerships with Anne Lee and Lauren Lucille Vassar

Based on the success of the YouTube series “Better Without – Your Guide to a Gluten-Free Life” Anne Lee, Director of Nutritional Services from Schar and Lauren Lucille Vassar, The Celiac Diva, will share their insights, tips, and recommendations for getting the greatest potential out of your brand partnerships.

Food Photography Made Simple with Cara Lyons

A picture is worth a thousand words, and in the case of a food blogger, it can make or break your readers’ decision to cook your recipe and return for more. Let Cara Lyons, from Cara’s Cravings, show you how to take pictures that do justice to your food that convey the tastes and textures you’ve created through rigorous effort in the kitchen.

Cara will walk you through each step of the photo shoot, from initial plating and styling, lighting and effective camera setting, and enhancing your shots via post-editing. If you’re a blogger with a day job, taking pictures at night, after natural lighting options are long-gone Cara will show you how you can still achieve drool-worthy photos.

How to Grow Your Blog Through Social Media with Melissa Jennings and Suzanne Florek

Explore how to take your blog to the next level through social media with Melissa Jennings from StockPiling Moms.  This session will cover Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.  You will learn how to grow your community through social media and take your blog to new heights.  We will also share how Salty Fig, an online community founded by Suzanne Florek designed to collect, organize ,and share recipes can be utilized as a useful tool in social media.
